SRS Retirees whose benefits plan are the responsibility of contractors Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) and Battelle Savannah River Alliance (BSRA) are having a much easier transition following the departure of health care benefits administrator/broker Right Opt.
One retiree summarized the changes this way on the SRS retirees Facebook page:
“SRNS/Battelle retirees have a new benefit administrator, LIG Solutions.
“SRNS/Battelle retirees will NOT lose their stipend if they don’t change their insurance broker to LIG. Those retirees can keep their same retiree medical plans, whether Medicare Supplement Plans or Medicare Advantage plans, with the same insurer they currently have in 2023, for 2024 – Blue Cross, United Health Care, Mutual of Omaha, etc., plans. No change in insurance plans or insurers unless you choose to do so.”
Below is the text of the letter sent to retirees under the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) and Battelle Savannah River Site (BSRA) retiree benefits management plans.
“August 23, 2023
Subject: Introducing LIG Solutions – Your New Medicare Insurance Advisor
Dear Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) and Battelle Savannah River Alliance (BSRA) eligible retirees,
This is an official and important notice from SRNS and BSRA about your Post-65 Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) retiree benefit. Your current Medicare healthcare advisor, RightOpt (Conduent), has recently informed us that they will no longer provide ongoing service or assistance to SRNS and BSRA eligible retirees and/or eligible spouses as of September 27, 2023.
To provide the best Medicare experience for eligible post-65 retirees, we’ve partnered with LIG Solutions (LIG), a Gallagher company, to be your new dedicated health insurance advisor. LIG is a national Medicare benefits advisory firm that specializes in Medicare education, benefits consultation, and assistance throughout the enrollment process. They are committed to personalizing each experience by focusing on your individual needs. HealthEquity will continue to administer and service your Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
YOU MUST TAKE ACTION by September 28, 2023! In order for LIG Solutions to begin servicing your healthcare coverage(s) and retain access to HealthEquity for your HRA, you will need to execute an Agent of Record (AOR) change with your health insurance carrier(s). Please follow the directions listed below to initiate the AOR change process.
1. Find your medical insurance cards (medical, prescription, dental) and their customer service phone numbers.
2. Contact LIG Solutions at 855-662-0681 or (https://partner.ligsolutions.com/srns/ ) to begin the process of changing your AOR. LIG is available Monday – Friday, from 9am – 6pm EST.
• Note, if there are multiple individuals in your household with Medicare Supplements, each person must make their own phone call to LIG. Only one household member will receive assistance from LIG per phone call.
3. Your LIG Advisor will guide you through the AOR change process, which includes communication with your insurance carrier.
4. LIG will connect you with your insurance carrier, stating the reason for the call, before disconnecting.
5. You must tell your carrier, “I would like to change my Agent of Record to Jason Farro; his National Producer Number is 6998749. My current agent will no longer handle my policies.”
6. At the conclusion of the call, kindly request a confirmation letter to be sent to you via mail or email.
This process will not impact your actual supplemental insurance coverage, nor your HRA account. LIG is simply your partner in finding the right coverage to fit your individual needs, along with service-related issues with your health insurance policies.
